Relaxing Massage

Benefits

Why a massage?  When should I get an osteopathic treatment? What are the benefits? Both therapies can complement each other beautifully—massage for soft tissue relief and osteopathy for structural balance.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy involves the manipulation of soft tissues—muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia—to promote relaxation, reduce pain, and improve circulation. A registered massage therapist (RMT) uses techniques like Swedish massage, deep tissue, sports massage, or myofascial release to:

  • Relieve muscle tension and stiffness

  • Improve flexibility and mobility

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Support injury recovery and overall wellness

  •

Massage is often used in wellness clinics, spas, and rehabilitation settings, and sessions are tailored to your specific needs—whether you're recovering from an injury or just need to unwind.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a holistic, hands-on therapy that focuses on the body’s structure and function. Manual osteopaths use gentle manipulative techniques to:

  • Enhance blood flow and lymphatic drainage

  • Address musculoskeletal pain (like back, neck, or joint pain)

  • Support the body’s natural healing processes.

  •

Unlike massage, osteopathy also considers the health of internal organs and the nervous system, aiming to treat the root cause of discomfort rather than just the symptoms. We use gentle techniques such as:

A manual osteopathic practitioner uses gentle techniques such as:

  • Osteo-articular adjustments: To improve joint mobility and alignment

  • Fascial release: To ease tension in connective tissues

  • Craniosacral therapy: To support the nervous system by working with the skull, spine, and surrounding fluids

  • Visceral manipulation: To enhance the function and mobility of internal organs
